The Auric Field: The Real Reason You Can Sense a Stranger’s Sticky Vibes…
The Human Auric Field (commonly referred to as our Aura) is an energy container surrounding and rooted at the core of the body -it expands at least 8 feet beyond our physical body depending on what frequency we are “vibing on” as Gen Z would say.
(Image 1) Invisible to the human eye, the Auric Field hovers around the human body.
When Gen Z casually shoots out the word 'vibes' in a typical modern-day conversation, do you think they consciously link it back to the non-shortened adaptation of the word, ‘vibration’? Probably not.
Albert Einstein claiming that, “Everything is energy” in the early 1930s, was one of the first attempts to widely communicate to the Western world that our direct and alternate realities are completely shaped by our relationship to our internal and external energy systems — which are composed of vibrations or…vibes.
Now, nearly a century later, the word vibe is tossed around to describe any and everything. From a connection between two people, or the ambiance in a room, and even someone’s demeanor (eg. "Her vibe was way off!") This is because energy and vibrations can not be solely explained through logic and reason. It’s a frequent feeling. A whisper that you must be willing to listen closely to in order to truly “hear” it. A non-verbal fluid language.
Attempting to find words to categorize and label the sensing of energy —be it slang or scientific terminology— usually ends up discrediting the body’s wisdom.
“With words comes concretization, the heavy hand of literalism that will take you away from the immediacy of your own experience.”
So far, the ‘Auric Field’ is the closest construct we’ve developed in the Western world to grasp and intellectualize the sensing of our own internal energy force, along with sensing the force of others. However, this does not mean we’ve only recently discovered the phenomenon. Mankind began documenting it’s understanding and relationship with the Auric Field and ‘Inner Energy’ shortly after we began roaming Earth.
(Image 2) Prana (प्राण) is one of the first words to describe our inner energy and originates from the second oldest language in the world, Sanskrit.
The Brief Anatomy of the Auric Field:
The Human Auric Field is an energy container surrounding and rooted at the core of the upper chest the exact location being within the center of our sternum area often referred to as the heart center in various mindfulness practices (yoga, meditation, etc.). It expands at least eight feet beyond our physical body depending on what frequency we are "vibing on".
Each human's unique Auric Field, similar to Wi-Fi routers running on radio waves, is charged with bioelectromagnetic power that can interact and interfere with the fields of those around them. That's why when someone has sticky energy and is vibrating at a lower frequency you can feel it despite not exchanging a word or even a glance. If the Auric Field was visible to the human eye, each individual would be walking inside of a giant bubble that can merge with its surroundings without popping or dissolving (see Image 1).

The strength of your Auric Field is affected by many different factors (including but not limited to):
The people you frequently spend time around (who's auric field you're stepping into)
The environments you spend time in (natural vs. artifical)
Your sense of personal fulfillment
The quality of the relationship you have with yourself (self-love) and with others
The food & drink you consume (whole vs. processed)

Lastly, it’s important to mention that some people are just naturally more attuned to sensing their own Auric Field without much practice. While for others, they may have to put the work in to become more sensitive to feeling the vibrations of an auric field. Through consistent energy cultivation practice, this can be achieved by anyone.
